So, what is a teaser trailer?

A teaser trailer is used to excite the audience about a film that is being released up to a year and a half after the trailer is shown to the public. The audience would become curious, motivating them to view the film being advertised. Generally, a teaser trailer lasts from half a minute to a minute, as it is created before the film is finished. It may include camera shots of famous faces, humour or well known music to catch the publics attention.
Techniques that are typical of a teaser trailer:
  • Narration, sound effects, music or tones
  • Bright colours for Comedies and Romance, dark colours for Horrors or Thrillers
  • Fast cutting rhythm shots for Action, steady cutting shots for Comedies/ Cartoons
  • Most teaser trailers are folllowed by a title card with the Date the film is released
  • Famous Actors/ Actresses
