Location recee

Accessability, Feasability, Health and Safety.

Our possible locations were difficult to assess in terms of their accessability and whether or not our group would be free to travel on specific days outside lesson times. We have decided the college TV studio is highly equiped with what we need for the majority of our filming and easily accessible for our group.

Our other locations include the Hallway used by the drama students for performances in our college. This is easily accessible and has effective lighting that will be highly beneficial to our production.

We will also take the camera off campus, to a Carpark down an alley at around dusk. We have decided to use one in Evesham. Evesham is a secure location as it is near to Rosie's house in case of any emergencies as well as the local hospital. Our other location is the car interior. Here is the car we will be using, we have organised a day in which we can use this for filming.

Here is a photograph of Hitman- ALI (Asif) and his car- ROSIE will be kidnapped in.

This is the corridoor in which we intend to shoot the first scene of our teaser trailer. Here, ROSIE will be waiting to be called into her 'Audition'. We feel the blue neon lights in the dark hallways adds an eery atmosphere to set the scene.

Here is the alleyway in which scene three will be shot. It is loacted in Worcester. This grimey, graffitied, urban setting is perfect for the mood and atmosphere of our horror film; it adds mystery and gloom.

This is a map, highlighting the potential route if a severe emergency would occur that would disclose college facilities.

This is a map highlighting where the local hospital is in Evesham in relation to our desired location.

This is another map, showing where (my) Rosie's house is in relation to our filming location, which assures for any minor emergencies.

As we will be using an actor who does not attend our college, it has been difficult to arrange photography shoots and to organise our shooting schedule. However, we have a day in which all can attend with ease. We must remember to sign Asif in as a visitor, in case of fire. We will use our cars for travel expenses and any emergencies that may occur off campus.

Teaser trailer Script

SCREENPLAY

INT. HALLWAY TO AUDITION ROOM. DAY.

ROSIE (23) a petite brunnette is approaches the audition room, the hallway is dark with a blue hue giving a sense of gloom. She walks to the forboding door, as she pushes it open it creaks.

INT. AUDITION ROOM. DAY.
The sound is followed by the door slamming shut on itself. ROSIE walks to the centre of the shadowed studio room. The lights are chiaroscuro and highly contrasted. As ROSIE turns to look at the figure ALI (30)Pakistani broad Gangster/ hitman behind the desk at the front of the room, a spot light is shone in her face. ROSIE steps back blinking from the blinding light. The room is silent for a second.

Ali remains in the shadows and Rosie is central to the frame in the style of an audition tape. A red light starts flashing.

ALI
(Questions)
Rosie Thomson i take it yes?

ROSIE
(nervously)
yeah

ALI
(Instructs)
Can you move the chair to the centre of the stage please.

ROSIE fetches the chair, for a brief moment, she isn't seen, we see her from behind shortly after with the chair. She walks to the stage and places the chair off centre.

ROSIE
(Quietly)
OK
ALI
(Sarcasticly)
I did say centre

ROSIE
(apprehensively)
Sorry

ALI
(Instructs)
Take a seat please

ROSIE does as she's told, she looks behind briefly to locate the chair and she smiles and sits formally.

Ali walks towards Rosie.

ALI
(Instructs, muffled)
Okay,just relax

ROSIE
(Innocently)
Ok

As Rosie is sitting, she fiddles with her fingers on her knee. Ali walks towards Rosie.

ALI
(Sly)

Just relax Rosie. This is all part of your audition. Try your best to keep act as if this is a real kid napping scene.

Rosie is trying to avoid looking at him in order to keep her concentration. Ali moves behind her, out of her sight and is silhouetted against the light. ROSIE is gagged with force and she reacts by shaking her head and arms in panic trying to remove the gag. It is obvious she is acting, she tries to remain reserved to an extent, but it's as though she's connected to her chair.

Ali restrains Rosies arms with thick green hessian rope, it's very traditional and reminisent of the horror or noir genre. Rosies facial expressions become more intense with fear, her eyes are stressed open as she tilts her head back. She begins to rock the chair frantically. It is now clear the reactions are real. Rosies shoulders begin to thrust forward, back and forth. Ali Quickly installs a bag over Rosies head. She is hesitant for a moment before trying to scream under her gag. The sound is muffled and deep.

ROSIE
(extremely prolonged muffled)
No no

The room is filled with darkness and none of the characters are visible. But suddenly after this pause of inactivity; it is silent and Rosies bagged head becomes full frontal with a fade in, it is obvious her head is tilted backward, a shadowed hand is applying force to her neck and ROSIE emits a slight wimper. The hand slowly moves to Rosies chin. Ali places his hand on Rosie's shoulder as she struggles.

ALI

(a fake reasurance)

Relax Rosie.

As Ali holds rosies shoulder down to stop her moving and struggling, he swings back a hammer which is then brought down onto Rosie. Rosie is dimly lit by a red accent light* which follows her silhouette sharply.
FADE TO:

3. EXT. ALLEYWAY. DAY.
A fade in to a gloomy alleyway, the rain is heavy and street lights reflect in the mirrored pavement. Rosie is watching and looking around her frantically, her vision is distorted from the rain and her injury. Footsteps are heard from the character (Ali) carrying Rosie through the alleyway. Rosie is looking up to the top of the buildings with blinding lights shining like a surrealists moon, further distorting her vision. Graffiti, industrial waste bins and litter are scattered across the ground. the wind is frivolous, whipping the ground carrying rain and litter, whilst splashing in the puddles. Rosie's vision fades in and out of darkness.

  FADE TO:

4. Ext. CAR PARK AND CAR. NIGHT.

A skyline loomes out from the shadows, the red lights are almost luminescent. Once reaching a point a quarter from the curb, its tires spin and screaches as it skids around the corner in a zigzaging fashion.

Initail ideas for genre

Here i have created a mind map of the different genres i could use for my teaser trailer. i am particularly drawn to the horror and thriller idea as is it more feasable than an action or comedy genres.

Here I have noted the codes and conventions of these genres and how we can combine them into one for our film. This includes the mise-en-scene, sound, camera work and editing we will have to think about when creating our teaser trailer to attract our expected audience.

Planning

Leading on from my research; where i found out that thrillers equally atrract both genders and action and sci- fi films attract a large audience. In additon, ratings from the IMDB website has proven that high concept films such as Avatar has higher ratings from a wide audience as aposed to High school musical that attracts a younger female audience.
For my teaser trailer i want it to attract quite a wide audience, preferably people over 15 who enjoy lots of action, thrill, horror and romance. The film being advertised in the trailer will include props, characters and locations to catch everyones eyes. For example; Fast cars, equal amount of each gender, mixed race and mixed aged characters and weapons. Locations that I think could be effective are dark alleys, a photography studio (good lighting), an old building, adandoned barns/ houses/ hospitals.
